The idea of WORLD CULTURE LINK was first conceived in early 1999 in the United Kingdom, by a group led by Mr Tony Ashikodi. |

World Culture Link by welcoming the unanimous resolution 52/15 of the United Nations to proclaim the year 2000 'lnternational year for a culture of peace' and also the unanimous resolution to declare the years from 2001 to 2011 to be the International decade for a culture of peace and non-violence for children of the world, decided to embark on a projects that will bring together people from different cultural background.The first MISS CULTURE was held in Lagos Nigeria in January 2000, and that event was won by Anthonia Adenike Fagbuaro who was sponsored by the Lagos state council for art and culture. |

The president of the World Culture Link is Mr Tony Ashikodi (IWA). Who apart from holding this position is also a member of other United Nations Educational and Scientific and Cultural Organization Ngo organizations in operational relations with UNESCO, member UNESCO dance council, Executive secretary (WA) international organization for folk art, former corresponding member CIOF. He is a graduate of Creative Industries from the University of Greenwich London. World Culture link is open to co-operation in the area of promoting the dialogue of cultures which will lead to a better world, one of peace and understanding. Respecting cultural diversity with its exiting languages, religions, traditions and customs is of utmost importance. |
